Squirrels have evolved a complex defense mechanism over the course of millions of years. They will 'flick' their tail many times when in the presence of an assumed predator. This sends extra amounts of blood into every area of their tail, making them seem larger to an attacker (such as a snake) that sees with heat vision. This particular squirrel tried this sneaky trick with me, only to eventually realize that I was a peaceful creature. There are some nice close-up views of the squirrel attempting to scare me off. If the audio is turned loud enough, you can hear the squirrel give a sort of 'chirp' every time it flicks its tail.

Technical Notes:
The 720p camera I used has an automatic exposure, which drops the brightness down significantly when bright light sources (such as the sun, in this case) are in the background. About half of the video is normal brightness, and looks great. The other half is rather dark, but still watchable.
There is no zoom function on my camera, the squirrel was that actual distance away.
