The training of the Secret Service was in evidence when an assassination attempt was made on President Ronald Reagan in 1981, this lead to further security improvements involving metal detectors for screening weapons.

@RichieMcCormick1888 WTF are you talking about "the guy froze with 2 hands not even halfway up ain't no last boy boy scout". Agent McCarthy's job was to be a shills and to "look big" to take away a line of sight for any shooter. He reacted as he was trained, turning toward the shots and spreading out... totally opposite of what would be natural (to duck/hide).
