PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT/RATING! thanks!

From a recent concert that was taped by CBC Radio Canada as a concert-on-demand, and for Canada Live (2010 broadcast).
Listen to the whole concert at: http://www.cbc.ca/radio2/cod/concerts/20091212strak
This song is based on a real life experience I had, with a great aunt who had Alzheimer's. A frame pops up near the start of the song and gives the quick story.
Thanks to Shauna Powers (producer) and Chris Haynes (engineer) at the CBC for capturing my music.
thanks to the band: Kory Gibbs (xylophone, timpani), Jill Straker-(backing vocals), Amy Borton (Cello)

  • I remember hearing you sing this at Buddies in Toronto. Even through the 'Net, the song comes across just as powerfully. It's so touching and beautiful. You're an insightful musical poet, Jeffery -- and obviously a gifted musician!

  • Thank you for this, Jeffrey.

  • My Grandmother died of Alzheimers, Jeff...thank you for this song!

  • You are absolutely awesome, Jeffery Straker and I LOVE this song. What a beautiful tribute to Mary. <3 you!

  • "Sip our coffee...Wear your puzzled gaze", reminds me of my Grandfather about a week before he died when he would stare at his tea and ask me what to do with it. Wow, that was exactly 18 years ago, he died Feb 2 1992.

Wonderful, wrenching memories that I keep alive by writing about them too; just not setting them to melody.

Thank you for your artistic and personal contribution!

    ~M~

  • What an awesome song - actually gives me goosebumps!!! You have an amazing talent!!
