Here are some clips from my trip to Ohio with the guys from the Diesel Crew. Our first stop on Friday was a squat primary day at Westside Barbell with Louie Simmons. Louie still has it! Throwing around weight with the "young guys." Thanks to Louie for having us, and AJ Roberts for showing us the ropes. Much appreciated.

Later that day we headed over to Elite's compound, and they were squatting as well!

  • @HyN0iK42 Hey, I don't recall what we used. Louie said they use typically between 12 - 16 inches, (but we used slightly higher I think).

  • can somebody tell me why people somtimes were big belts around their waist when workingout?

  • @CocoKing238 only during Max effort movement, it helps abdominal bracing (pushing your belly out against the belt to stabilize the core - again only during certain lifts, and during max effort.)

  • very impressive lifting. have any of y'all experienced knee or spine problems from these super low squats though? i heard some people talking about that possibly resulting in injury.

  • Westside Barbell can squat over 1000lbs, but with that deep it isn't A SQUAT. It's just squat on paralel, not under.....
