Man, I miss the Sonics.

The Lakers were on their way to sweeping the Supersonics in 4 straight. In game 4 the Sonic fans were great. Even in the face of certain defeat, (down big in the fourth q.) ,they stood and cheered their team almost continuously. The boisterous fans gave no indication who was winning. I'm a life long Lakers fan but my hat was off to the Sonic fans that day because I totally understand loving your team.

This video is GREAT! I grew up a Celtics fan and loved the x-man when he played for them but I don't remember many games he played as well as that 4'th qtr. of the game you have. Didn't he try to strangle Wes Mathews during a game the next yr? Anyways, those Lakers/Celtics games were the best. It's too bad the best C's team in the 80's with Walton and the best Lakers team (87 after the Thompson trade) didn't matchup when healthy. That would be a HELL of a series!

I remember the X man with the Knicks in that 92 East Semifinal series against Chicago when he was getting in Pippen's face. The Knicks should have tried to keep McDaniel and Mark Jackson instead of trading Jackson to the Clippers for Charles Smith and Doc Rivers.
Magic could just buzz around the court back in the day and do whatever he wanted...Worthy had about 10 dunks and lay-ups in this game (nice baseline dunk off the tipped pass), shows why he was arguably the greatest finisher in the NBA...The big three came up big in this one...but the play of the day belongs to Cooper for his amazing reaching block of Dale Ellis in the final 30 seconds...the next game is blow-out city, nice easy tune-up before heading back home to wait for the Celts...

I like the slow mo of the Cooper block, he was trackin him down, the screen was insignificant to him.

This was such an awesome series, even though it was a 4-game sweep. Worthy had so many moves. McDaniel was also a beast and he had few more good years after this. I can only imagine what seattle would have been if seattle kept him and Kemp together.

Yeah. He was traded to PHX for Eddie (#8) Johnson, so I guess that means Seattle wanted an outside threat to replace Ellis after he left for Milwaukee. Xman's exit paved the way for McKey and Kemp to split duties at 3 until they moved Kemp over to 4.
As good as X was, he was a tweener skills wise. He was too slow to play SF, imo. Even the taller Magic would leave him in the dust on spinmoves. He was too short for full duties at 4. Similar to Jerome Kersey. Lotta guts tho.
