  • Sensei MacEwen: What a powerful display of the art of Nihon Goshin Aikido! I've been wondering about the 2 man randori ~ is the technique @ 4:43 a "Two On One" or a "Handshake" that you had to abandon early to meet the 2nd attacker? The Unbendable Arm @ 4:46 off Uke's attempted upper cut is sick! It's hard to see your left hand placement there because your back is to the camera, but are you grabbing Uke's striking hand with it to keep the technique on longer thereby creating more height?

  • very good demo. Very good at his art.

  • the kata was truely imressive

  • NGA was founded my shoto morita

    otherwise your right

  • If you look at very old film clips of O'Sensei he had no problem with striking his attacker. Respectfully, Sensei MacEwen

  • I can teach them, but can't tell them how to dress. Respectfully Sensei MacEwen!

  • Forgive me, but i thought the hakama goes over the belt. Kinda looks sloppy!

    Good video.

  • I respect your feelings and thoughts! But after 40 years in the martial arts and NGA Aikido being the one that I teach. In todays world people want to see practicality and art. O-Sensei had been taught to be combative but went torward a much spiritual way of teaching.

    Resectfully

    Sensei Robert MacEwen

  • NGA doesn't trace lineage back to O-sensei. It traces back to Shioda Morida. NGA is much more closely related to what Ueshiba envisioned when he first created the art than where he eventually led it after his spiritual journey. NGA isn't "wrong" it's just different. Too many modern aikido-ka forget just how devastating an art aikido can be. Perhaps not the most spiritual outlook but certainly one that will get you home to your family if the world goes sideways.

  • My dear friend, The filosofi of Aikido is about peace and harmony, Never to strike, as you guys do here. I hope you guys can see the true beuty of Aikido and understand the true filosofi of O-sensei Ueshiba.

// May the path of peace and love, be a path of yours.
