For stalagmites versus stalactites I usually just break it down as 'g' for ground and 'c' for ceiling.

I would like to say that I'm really enjoying this walkthrough, Mr.Quad! And to help out @ 5:40 I remeber them by "Stalagmites, you might. Stalactites, hang tight." As in- You -might- trip over stalagmites, and stalactites hang -tightly- onto the ceiling. It's something I made up when I was a kid to remember. :D so you had it right the first time.

Dude, I played pod racers a ton! I had an almost full upgraded pod when I got grounded for a long time but that was forever ago.
