My sister was diagnosed with OCD, after 15 years we've only just discovered that it's actually Autism that she has and OCD is just a result of the Autism.

Most behavior diagnoses do include symptoms of more than one disorder when it's diagnosed. Anxiety disorders for example include symptoms of OCD, depression, and of course, anxiety. They overlap each other most of the times and having symptoms of all 3 is what leads to a final diagnosis of anxiety. I do agree that many of the autistic behaviors would also fit in OCD, however, in combination with the other traits, it leads to the final diagnosis of autism. I like your perspective though :)
