I wonder if this planet is really the Earth from the parallel universe with the Cybus Cybermen.Otherwise their science is really bad.

The interesting thing about this story is the Doctor already knows about the cybermen, and whats going to happen. You have to wonder if perhaps he was sent by the Time Lords (with or without his knowledge) like he was in The Two Doctors and Attack of the Cybermen to deal with the situation.

yeeeaa your right, looks as if it reads as an orbit between Mars and Venus,

@jkliesing When I was in high school, we were required to take at least one year of American Sign Language. One thing we learned is that a really effective interpreter wears colors that contrast with his/her skin tone to make the hands show up - ergo, a black interpreter wears white clothing and a white interpreter wears black or navy clothing. This episode was filmed in black-&-white; therefore, they probably dressed the astronauts in contrasting colors for the same reason interpreters do.
