Majora's Mask: Start a New Cycle at the Mayor's

I broke into MM's save file format and discovered something rather awesome. I found that it was possible to start a file from any owl statue, without having an owl statue save. I also discovered that playing SoT would also cause you to return to that owl statue, but for some reason it didn't always work at first.

I figured out why though. Basically, when you save at an owl statue, the value of the owl statue you save at is written inside the normal game data block for some reason, and another value (offset 0x0023 from the start of the game file save) is set to 1, which is used to determine if the owl save is to start at an owl statue rather than clock town. When restoring from an owl save, the value reverts set back to 0 automatically... unless you don't actually return to an owl statue!

So, using the "extra" owl statute in clock town, it's possible to keep this value set to 1 permanently, and thus always start off at owl statue 0F, or the glitched Mayor's House, as long as you don't use the owl warp song.

This is why this game had such a long localization delay: Owl statues were a pain in the rump.

...and I never realized how creepy the mayor's secretary looked until now. Why did Nintendo make a whole new character model for such a unimportant NPC, anyways...?
