What did I do to deserve the pain that I am in? What did I do to deserve being chained to a bumper while they drove down the road? Did they think it was funny? Did they enjoy hurting me like this? Did they do it on purpose? I thank God that the chain finally broke free, and a passer by called for help for me. The sheriff's department showed up and quickly drove me to the shelter for help. The staff couldn't believe their eyes, they cried for me. Quickly realizing that they couldn't do anything for me at the shelter, they loaded me up and took me to Greystone Pet Hospital. Once there, two veterinarians, and a team of about five vet techs worked for several hours on me. They gave me pain meds, washed the gravel and debries from my open wounds, wrapped me in bandages, almost my entire body. I cry out in pain, it hurts so bad. They said I've lost close to fifty percent of the skin on my body, I have bones, and muscle showing all over. They said they don't know yet if I'm going to make it, that they won't know for 2-3 days. I'm on fluids, and pain meds, and if I make it past these next few days, I will have to under go surgery to try to close up some of my wounds, and have drainage tubes put in so that I can start my healing process. I have a long road of recovery ahead of me. But I have faith, and believe that I wouldn't have survived if it wasn't meant to be. I hope that they catch the terrible person or persons that did this to me, I hope that they are punished for this. Sadly, laws in Ky are minimal, and even if the person is caught, their punishment will hardly fit the crime. I even heard someone say that Kentucky's laws are so bad that it basically welcomes criminals to our state because they can get away with crimes like this. This is what I know, I was hurt badly, and needed help, and the sheriff's dept, Humane Society, and Greystone Pet Hospital stepped up to help me. Now, they need YOU to step up and help them help me. Please make a contribution to my medical bills by clicking on the "chip in" link above! You have no idea how much I appreciate the amount of kindness, and generosity that has been extended to me. Please say a prayer for me for a speedy recovery, and eventually a home, a REAL HOME, that will treat me with the respect and kindness I deserve! The shelter will post updates, more photos, and a video of me soon! ****Cat testing can be done upon request after the application is received.****Sponsor A PetMail a check to:BGWC Humane Society Attention: Name of AnimalPO Box 1456Bowling Green, KY 42102You can donate via Paypal to bgshelterpets@aol.comOr Call in a credit card donation to 270-783-9404

  • @alliesw If I remember correctly the original report stated that the authorities figured that whatever tied Malachi to the bumper broke off at some point while being dragged behind that damn truck and that's how he landed in the ditch. I love your idea of justice.

  • All the surgeons and vets did an amazing job with Malachi. You guys are the real heroes.

  • I've got a better idea for punishment. Lets chain the son of a bitch that did this to Malachi behind a car and speed down the highway for a while. Maybe even hit some dirt and unpaved roads afterwards. And then when it's all over, leave him on the side of the road like the piece of shit he is.

  • I don't believe this guy's story for a second. Who ties their dog to a car bumper in the first place? And how long and how loud did this dog have to cry out, scream, yelp, before the guy realized that the dog was chained to his bumper? Oh, and how did Malachi get loose from the bumper??? Then he was abandoned?????? Yeah, sure. He's telling the truth. I'll buy the chain if someone can provide a truck, then we can show this ass what it feels like.

  • Shane you should be in jail for the rest of your life for doing this to malachi

  • This shelter takes great pride in giving these animals the best life possible in this situation. I've been there, we have volunteered there and it is run by people who believe in saving each life, no matter how big or how small. They have found the guy responsible, his story is he forgot that he chained her to the bumper, dragging her down the road. He waited until the next day to figure out what happened to her. Not sure I buy that story.

  • @kcbbmom Thank you for your reply. I would like to say adopting from a shelter is a whole different ball game then when you work there as a volunteer. The shelter I volunteered at for about 5 years and I was emotionally and verbally abused at..the people coming in to adopt think it is the greatest place on Earth but they don't have a clue. They don't know of the sadistic staff that work there and what goes on behind closed doors. Just wanted to let give you my view point on this.

  • @taxpayinghorse I am sorry of your hard times And I understand. But just to let you know if there is one humane society That works hard for their animals it is Bowling Green. They are a no kill and we have went to several of their walks and Have adopted from there for years. I just want to put you back in a positive about the shelters. go to their site and see all that they do to help the animals to get adopted. Thanks for listening.

  • Jesus.

  • After the horrible job the shelter has done here in Tallahassee Florida, I just can't donate to anymore shelters. I don't trust them. I know first hand how abusive they can be and I don't trust them to spend any money coming in wisely.
