I also visited The Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre about 45 min. from Pretoria. It was amazing. They had served our private party a luncheon...and had the most awesome squash flower soup, and dessert was an amazing recipe...bread pudding...a family recipe I think..like none Ive ever tasted...wish i had the recipes for them both...dont compare to what I found online.

this recipe seems very tasty and i have to make it, not only for me but also for my boyfriend who is from the southern part of Africa!!
however i am not a big fun of celery, could I substitute it with something else?? Like cucumber!! am just afraid it would loose the original taste :)
thx

Thanks for the reply Robin...i will definitely try the Fire Salad...I stayed at Mala Mala in S. Africa also..at the main camp. A wonderful experience, and the best place to see lots of game.. I returned to S. Africa, and stayed at Singita Ebony Lodge last time...loved both!

@bosoleil Nice to meet a fellow Mala Mala fan! We stayed in several other places, but Mala Mala was by far my favorite. Saw the big five in a matter of hours and our guides were amazing (and fun). And of course, the salad takes me back there every time..
