  • Also, all you need is a doctor's order to get occupational therapy for yourself or your child.

  • you can copyright a treatment with a brush? that's kind of heartless of them.

so i can get my kid treated? no, sorry, no one with the ip rights is available. good thing haircuts aren't copyrighted. and thank god toothbrushing is in the public domain...

  • The Wilbarger's say that it is their intellectual property and only licensed occupational therapists are able to supervise it's use. They do have a point. There are areas in the treatment where people get really emotional and they need support and to know it's ok.

  • @sandhilldiva yes

  • can ot help people with fibromyalgia?

  • @vk452937 you are here too,, such a looser!!!

    GO OT!!!!

and again yes,, we make lots of money!!! go use your food stamps!!! LOOOL

  • @vk452937 OT and PT have a lot of similarities, but OT is a lot more concerned with being functionally independent.....rather just being able to move

  • Laura, it's nice to hear how OT has helped you. I am an OT working with persons with Dementia and using some of the same techniques that you describe. thanks for sharing and for publicizing your book.

  • OT's where created during the WW1 to assist the psychiatrist with the increased population of disabled soldiers, and are known as the experts on activity analysis, as well as helping with restoration of lost function or occupation. It rather ignorant of you to make such remarks of our profession.

  • how much does it cost? does medicare cover it? I have aspergers dissorder so I am interesed in this.

    Thanks.

  • Xquisite Jen;...you will soon acknowledge that OT largely overlaps with other areas of allied health. ..Good luck ! for your masters

  • i think thats very ignorant to say that because I went to school for physical therapy and now I'm getting my masters in occupational therapy and its very different
