He was always the greatest and will remain the greatist and best forever

Someone remarked way back that it was odd for Milstein to wear his watch while playing..I remarked that since the watch was quite secure I didn't see that it was an issue, but I usually don't wear mine because it bothers me...I have a troll that sometimes follows me around and negs me for the heck of it...I would never say anything negative about Mr. Milstein.

Some one disagreed that Mr. Milstiein is utterly amazing and earned the title of being the "Master of Invention", that the Bach Chaconne was a life long journey for him that changed right along with him..I wonder if this was a Milstein lover that diagreed with that statement six times?

Milstein had a long career. He was absolutely great to hear live and retained his power, imagination and control into his 80s! Compare his interpretations of the same piece at different times of his life, and you will hear many changes. Always alive and aways rethinking.

I have great respect for this man, who, in his 80s, was still capable of playing many of the hardest pieces in the violin repertoire.
For me, his Chaccone is the greatest. This particular performance moved me to tears.
