Here's the final number from Act One - I won't even try to explain all the plot threads at this point - and then the intermission, or really the lack of one. The whole show is under two hours, with no break. The script gives us a nice way of breaking up the action, though, with not only yet another long speech from the Man in the Chair, but ... some kind of pseudo-Chinese interlude ... ?
This is from a local production of "Drowsy Chaperone," by Portage (IN) Community Theatre, directed by Craig Golbesky. Nov-Dec 2010. I asked a friend to videotape a few pieces, since I have a need to show myself off ... and share this great show. This is a copyrighted work, of course - performance rights are through MTI, Music Theatre International. Music and Lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, and Book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar. I'm forever indebted to them for a wonderful show, a favorite of mine since the 2006 Tonys. And I hope they won't sue me. :)
not bad. not bad at all.
