The continuing series of shadows in my enclosed courtyard garden. Here we start with a shot from January 1st this year (Our equivalent of July 1 in the northern hemisphere, go through summer, autumn and into our winter (Very mild here). What else you see m,idday shadows lengthen as they drop in the sky (The sun has only climbed 0.3 of a degree from the shortest day to today). You will also see a swan plant grow and die, a hibiscus, flower in summer, get pruned in autumn and nearly die in the winter. Temperatures range from 28 (80) in February down to 10-13 (50-55) in June July, some nights in June hit freezing causing the frosts. Enjoy
Thanks princette. Splendid! I measured 87 degrees f(in the shade) in my garden this afternoon. It has been hotter in London...early 90's.
Since you have relatively mild winters. There must be some plants or trees that continue to produce leaves and flowers all year round, especially in the North Island right?
We have 2 Eucalyptus trees in our garden( I always associate them with Australia)They are very hardy, grow very fast and never losea lltheir leaves even when its minus 7/8 degrees c.
