Hannes is a short form of Johannes. Usually a popular Male name for Germans. It suits her character for the most. People who have that name often have an serious, independent, and reticent aura about them.

It's not out of the ordinary for girls to be named guys names, not these days at least.
I was almost named Tommy (which is normally a guys name)
