  • Serious Diesel Power!

  • @Turbo617 We have several new emisson ISXs and they are gutless but they did put the EGR on the coldside so that is good. They are 485HP 1850TQ we have several 06 ISXs they pull pretty good but they eat up EGR valves EGR coolers and also have low oil pressure and when they blow up they ruin everything.

  • @Turbo617 Ya probably so but the old mechnical cats cant be beat and alot of there electronic motors 3406E or the C15 bridge and the C16 is bad to the bone.

  • @Pope54x 8% or 98%, the same standards will affect off-road equipment as well. ULSD just hit them 3 months ago and in 2015 off-road emissions will be equivalent to the current on-road limits.

Like I said, pulling out of highway applications only gives them borrowed time.

It will take a complete overhaul of their line (à la DD15) to meet the limits, not just throwing tons of air at the cylinders (compound turbos).

  • @Turbo617 Emmisons are stupid and they pulled out because emmisons were killing and are killing motors in the trucks today. It only accounted for 8% of Cats company the truck engines so they said screw spending money to meet emmisons which i agree with. Cummins just got a million dollar fine for the new engines being out of compilence just read in diesel power so there not doing any better! None of the new engines are good period!

  • @Pope54x What new acerts? Cat pulled out!

Since they're doing off-road only they'll be fine until the emissions laws catch up with them again! I guess they figure buyers are okay with passing on the non-compliance fine to them!

  • @Turbo617 Ya and the EGR valves go out all the time even before the DPF crap. The new accert Cats dont run very good but its because of emmisions nothing else.

  • @Pope54x ISX is the best Cummins has ever made, its the EGR and DPF crap that chokes it.

Cat doesn't even have the balls to admit they used EGRs on their on-highway engines, BOTH internal and external.

It took two kinds of EGR AND two turbos and they STILL couldn't meet emissions limits.

Cats may be strong, but they don't run worth a crap.

  • @Turbo617 BAD is a CUMAPART the big cams sucked the 444s or criple 4s sucked the ISX sucks the KT is ok and the N14 is ok. The 3400 series is the greatest truck motors ever built period along with the 1693. Weak how so? The 1693 would go a million miles in the 1970s the new ISXs will hardly go that! Slow the southern shaker had the fastest truck ever and it was a 3408 dirty why because they smoke? Its better than all that "dirty" oil the cummins leave on the ground. Cat is the greatest motor!

  • @Pope54x Thats why they stopped making on-road engines? BAD is an accurate description, along with dirty, weak and slow.
