After a recent trip to Cambodia I found myself often thinking about the people from my visit. There I met a tour guide named Ponhearny who had survived the brutal regime of the Khmer Rouge. When she wasn't showing tourists around the beautiful sites of Angkor Wat she worked very hard at helping children go to school and making sure there was enough food for the people of local villages. She took us to a village where they were about to have a lunch of literally one cricket that they would cook up in a soup. We brought them a bunch of food, but really one day is a minimal difference.

I've traveled to a lot of places in the world, but I was really touched by the altruism and good nature of the Cambodian people. There were numerous situations of people waving and helping where money wasn't a factor. They just were being nice.

And yet Cambodia is a place that has suffered immensely due to the horrible genocide that occurred there. Some of you may have seen the movie "The Killing Fields", which provides some insight into what happened during those dark times.

Many children in Cambodia live too far from a school to be able to attend. Without a bicycle they aren't able to travel the distance necessary and instead our bound to grow up uneducated in their village without a real shot at a future.

The goal last year was to raise money to purchase 30 bikes to help a classroom of children to make it to school. We ended up raising enough money to purchase 70 bikes and this video shows the culmination of th project.
