Rexall Sports Corp., which owns the Edmonton Oilers, is boosting team's scouting capabilities with help of SharePoint® 2010,

Originally founded in 1971 as a World Hockey Association franchise, the Edmonton Oilers joined the National Hockey League in 1979. The team went on to score five Stanley Cup wins, dominating the league throughout the 1980s. The Oilers have recently slipped in the standings, prompting team management to place a renewed focus on building the best team. But with hectic travel schedules, it isn't always easy for scouts and team management to meet in person and exchange ideas about team prospects. Using the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 platform, the IT team has created a portal where scouts are sharing information more easily and collaborating more closely as they seek out the best future Oilers.
