Join Jerry, John and David as they spend an amazing 44 days aboard the Tumbleweed, a 37-foot ketch based in Washington State. They fulfill a lifelong dream of a long-distance sail, heading from Neah Bay north of Seattle to Hiva Oa in French Polynesia--an amazing 4100 miles with only their skills and courage to guide them. You'll thrill to the adventurous spirit of the crew, their trials and successes, and the ultimate victory of achieving a safe passage to Hiva Oa, 44 days after leaving Washington. Whether you love sailing or just a thrilling ride, you'll marvel at the determination of this hardy band of adventurers as they live the dream of a lifetime.

  • Man I wish I could start sailing right now. It sucks being 18 and having a dream that's so far off.

  • A truly inspirational video. It was due to videos like this which inspired me to start sailing. Excellent work and thank you to you all for my new way of life.

  • If you're interested in art, camouflage and trash/pollution watch: Safe the planet-Recycling Art" and "Miss Biarritz". Enjoy it!!

  • @brodiehi123

I'm also in college. I'd highly recommend picking up at least a Bachelor's in English as you can then travel the world sailing and make port in various cities and teach as you go. I am saving up for a boat myself and I intend on sailing around the world a few times!

  • @DeOptimist I also am 18, sharing the dream of a life sailing, yet I am stuck for another 3.5 years in school. Have any plans to enter the world of sailing? And DarkArcana, now that you are 20, have you done any major sailing yet?
