This is a skit video on ferrofluid for our MatE232 final project.
The video is starring by Wei Chandra (me), Alex Stanley, Ryan Satcher, and Santiago Caceres with help from Alex's roomies.

The song was composed and performed by Alex Stanley and Ryan Satcher. Hopefully this video entertain you.

====================================
Lyric:
Walkin around, downtown, thinkin about
Ferromagnetic fluid
If you ask me why, then Ill reply,
Im a nerd, but I think you knew that.
So you ask me what it is
And I say, what?
And you say, ferrofluid.
Well, that aint no simple tale,
But if you walk with me Ill tell it

Then I pull a vile out of my pocket
And then I pull out a magnet, and you say

What is this thing, this black ball of spikes?!
It looks like an evil porcupine!
Oh no, thats just how the fluid aligns
Along magnetic field lines
Removing the field makes the spikes go away
A black pool of liquid is all that remains
Despite the ferromagnetic part of its name, the magnetization dont stay
So, youre askin me what this funky ferro stuff
Could possibly be made of
So I reply, Its made of magnetite on the nanoscale.
Covered with a surfactant to prevent agglomeration
And then placed in oil and suspended by random
Atomic fluctuations

Otherwise known as Brownian motion.
And then you ask about future applications

What if this freaky colloidal suspension
Resembling Spidermans nemesis Venom
Could be used for cancer detection?
Well, this is just a future projection.
Who wouldve thought that this black ball of spikes
That looks like an evil porcupine
Or some kind of mutated rice!
Could turn out so nice
