Some of this footage is from a gigantic artillery barrage that the russians launched at german positions just before the battle of kursk very early in the morning, there were about 750,000 german troops in this sector one of the most powerful german armies of all time was there, and the artillery barrage consisted of more than 3 thousand guns, mortars and rockets, the goal was to disrupt the germans as they were preparing to advance towards kursk.

@bombarderoazul You are correct, bombard. The footage is primarily taken from film of Soviet artillery barrages at Kursk and during the Vistula Offensive in 1945.
