Short version of a very long story (many actually). I was helping a young recovering drug addict stay on course and obtain a decent paying job doing something he would really enjoy. We were camping together when he was arrested on a small charge outstanding and his car was towed with all our belongings in it. That was a Sunday. I was exhausted, grabbed my laptop and side bag, hiked, bused and made my way to downtown Cincinnati. Things happened. I was diagnosed with severe depression. People in what is known as "Over The Rhine" to whom this song is dedicated actually helped save my life including Dr. Montauk who took one look at me and told me I was depressed. After interviewing me for a while she also told me I had every right to be depressed. I can laugh at it today but at that moment in time in my life it was a life or death situation. Truly. I hope you enjoy this video and song. I live and work in Dayton, Ohio. It, too, has its heroes as does every city and town in America and elsewhere in the world. Follow me. Do what you can, when you can, to support these heroes. Please.
