This guy is a legend kids! His sound started a trend that brought bass alive. He was funking on early 80's grover Washington albums. Took bass preamp to new levels with fat clean bottom without sacrificing bright snappy high notes. Pay some respect or send me a video of yourself playing teentown before you hate! Old school bassist here!

I think the beginning of the solo looks like Scoop's solo (from the Best of Marcus Miller's album).

I guess that's the studio version that was originally on "the sun don't lie" (I don't have the best of album). Yeah, the beginning sounds, pretty similar, but marcus often changes his solos and uses parts from different songs. But after looking through some of your favorites I guess you know that already.
