Who really killed Aung San? Vol 1

A recent release of classified documents from British Foreign office regarding the assasination of Aung San has prompted an investigation by BBC. BBC reported that the assasination plot was far more complicated then previously thought. It was suggested that the involvement of high ranking British government officials were hidden by British Foreign office until 1997. BBC traced back some links between Sir Reginald Dorman-Smith (an ex governer of Burma) and U Saw - the convicted assassin.

Sarcasm aside...the popularity of Aung San shows the general problem of Asian politics. Namely, Asians love to unite the roles of hero, parent and leader. That, with admiration comes loyalty and obedience. Together they always create environment that culture dictatorship.

Take Thailand for example. Thai people's love for their king is just irrational. And even though they have democracy, a few words from their king is enough to bring down whoever's been elected.

Do you really think they would make a movie titled "The Man", while showing a dark burmese guy making sweet love to a blonde haired blue-eyed pretty english woman?
