  • rudder? hmmm? i think i can get that one soon on the video..with a bulb it would definitely make more speed but the shape would then eat-up some cargo capacity on no.1 cargo hold.

  • looks very ugly without bulb :) but very nice launching&good show actually.congratulations.

  • thank you for your comment. I had the same impression when I first saw it. But more than the looks I was wondering on how much speed reduction was due to the effect of the water resistance on bigger frictional area. Mitsui however compensated the lost of speed with their new designed rudder with fins, same effect as the nozzle for most of the tug boats. The new rudder design will give the extra thrust on the ship. Bigger cargo capacity with great propulsion system, isn't that great?!

  • @grillurnuts and that's only 81000 dwt!!! (ie 229m of length approx)

  • how would it be if it launched sideways

  • Some said it looked ugly without the bulb, if this would had been an order from Chuck Norris this would have been the bulb.

  • world class shipyard, was there in 1998.

  • bravo voua .dar asa lansari nu am mai vazui niciodata

  • I wish that they had side-launched.
