This is part 1 of my audio book, or rather the audio-slideshow book version of my book entitled "Leaving the Quiet Room." I'm still looking for a publisher for the print version, so if you or someone you know is interested, or if you can help with that at all, please e-mail me: joezamecki@hotmail.com
This is the story of how and why I became an Atheist. The short answer is, 9 years of Catholic schools. But there's so much more involved, and this is my tell-all, whistle-blowing expose of the school I spent 8 years at.
It's not a long book, about 170 pages single-spaced in Word, but obviously it will take a lot of videos to read and post it all. Well I've got time, and religion isn't going away anytime soon. So enjoy the book/video. :o)

Update: Ellen Johnson is no longer president of American Atheists. The new president is Dave Silverman. Ellen served for 13 years as president of AA, and we're all darn fortunate for that. She accomplished a lot more than most Atheist activists who have ever lived. Dave has some BIG shoes to fill.

  • I agree, having a religion is worthless. Experiencing a personal encounter with the living God through the life-changing power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is an undeniable, life-transforming confession.

  • @sphereofinfluence247 - What do you think religion is?

  • This is pretty cool. I must watch the rest.

  • This is very good, I'm enjoying this. Its good to hear you read it.

  • You bring out a good point--most of the people who attend mass look so BORED. A Catholic I know said "Mass was good today. Father only spoke for 10 minutes". She, like so many others, was attending church only because it was expected of her and she couldn't wait to get out of there.

I saw very little enthusiasm during services. Most people just can't wait to go home. All that kneeling and standing and kneeling--what is the appeal? I'm sure people's time could be much better well spent.

  • Awesome!

  • Excellent!

  • Great Job Joe !!! Keep them coming .....this was very very enjoyable ( on to part II )

  • Both Koreas have lots and lots of Buddhists. Christian missionaries have made in-roads, so there are also Christians, especially in South Korea. Many of them have moved to America, so we now have lots of Korean Christian churches. I saw lots of them in NYC. I believe religion is allowed in totalitarian countries like that because they keep it TOTALLY out of the government affairs. It doesn't pose a threat, so they don't oppress it much. Buddhism is much less threatening than Islam or Xianity.

  • Really?

Maybe I was thiking of the bad korea (always forget if it is north or south.. I THINK it is south)

Where NO religion is allowed.. Nothing western ins allowed.. They think they could take on the US..
