Yep, and the music was used on WCBS-TV from 2000-2003 (and in the first few months of this music, the opens were voiced by the legendary Don LaFontaine, who died not too long ago).

Yeah, apparently $2 million a year from WCBS wasn't enough!

No..they only had it around 2000/2001. It was borrowed from network sports for a few months while they were working on our new set. This sports set was a few million dollars and obviously, they would NEVER spend that kind of money on a local news set.
