@MusicianFinder ask him what sub-label he works with

@chicadena well its not uncommon for a producer to charge money to help record songs. It costs money for studio time and the like. However, it is also really easy to get scammed into things like this. If you give me his name I might be able to tell you if I know of him, or else you could try and get a hold of the label/labels he claims to work for and ask about him. If he is working with Disney than that would probably mean Hollywood Records. Warner Brothers would be the Warner Music Group, so

@kathywmusic Hey, thanks for the comments . No, that was the first round in Dallas, Tx , I was invited to the second round in Houston, Tx were the judges would be , but we had family vacations that weekend already planed and i did not assist..
Honestly, for an opportunity like that I would have canceled the family vacation.
I do not intend for this to be demeaning or hateful, but I work as a music producer for a label, and when we are looking for artists we don't even consider them unless they are VERY dedicated to their music career. Its tough competition, and if you're not dedicated then you're not going to make it.

@MusicianFinder I understand, I wish I could of stayed, butt its was a family vacation planed ahead. My dad makes most of my decisions and I trust him. If it was something concerning my carrier my parents are the first ones to be there for me, plus after being in that audition and having to sign your life away, my dad said it was not something we want it. of course we talked about it ! . My time is coming! and when it comes i will make sure i fight for it , but that was not it.

@chicadena Okay that's understandable. I just wanted to make sure you knew what kind of dedication it takes to become successful. At our label we have met people that have dropped out of school and such to follow their music (not that I am suggesting you do that, in fact I strongly advise against it.) But my point is, a successful career in the entertainment business means sacrifices. It is an extremely hard business to get into.

@MusicianFinder you know its funny you say that , I was approached by a producer 3 weeks ago and told me he would like to record some songs , of course I got excited my dad has been speaking to him. my Dad is having his doubts, he says he works with Disney , Warner Brothers and others. he sounds legit , he wants us to fly to LA and we were getting ready too , butt then he asked for money. maybe you can tell us if you heard of him of give us some advice don't want to been taken advantage off
