This is my first attempt at using 3D Max, and would love some feedback from other users out there. It was a project for my Master course, which had a completely open brief. I decided to create a 3D Martial Arts Teaching Tool, and this video is an example of how a user would interact with said tool. It is meant to be used by teachers and pupils alike to observe technique and study pressure points (only slightly visible during the 'stop' phase)
Any feedback at all would be appreciated. I had trouble setting up the reflection of the hologram (it can barely be seen, but I guess that's how it should be) amongst a whole slew of other problems. There was a limited time frame for the project, so that is why the standard biped was used instead of creating my own model (I spent a week skinning the biped only to fail horribly)
"Today's martial artist learns from their instructor in the same way tradition has taught the art for centuries - the instructor performs a series of movements, and the student attempts to mimic them. However, the student can only learn so much from this one time demonstration. A tool is needed to aid the clarity of teaching. The 3D Sensei works in conjunction with both the instructor and the student. For students, it generates a constant frame of reference (which is useful when they are struggling to remember the finer details of a stance) and it aids instructors in their explanation of complex techniques by allowing them to show it with more than just their own anatomy.
