A quick short row demonstration for Machine Knitters. The video is USM compatible the only difference is making sure latches are opened when needles are returned to work. I am coaching my daughter who is the one doing the knitting. You can hear me tell her to move her weights up. We could write a song about moving weights around. Would have sworn this video was already here.

  • Great video! Shows how to do short rowing very well and exactly the info I was looking for!

  • Glad it helped!

  • How many rows did you knit before you started the short rows to form heel? What size sock are you making?

  • If this were to be a sock, it would be a baby size. However... this is intended only as a short row demo. Short rows are useful in MANY garment areas.

If knitting a sock you can knit as many or as few rows as are required. I've started short rowing for patterns with only one row of knitting.

  • fantastic report .. congrats =)

  • I just rediscovered a knitting machine I had in storage since probably before the ice age and sample knitting I had done on it from yarn I had spun... ... I wonder if I might become an addict too if I'm not careful... More seriously, thanks for posting I hope to listen to your podcasts soon..

  • Thanks!
