My friend Mick, often billed as the best songwriter in the Mississippi Delta, performs an original composition at his favorite spot along the riverfront . "This ain't no love song!" he sings out with a big smile on this sunny first day of Spring, 2011. "It's for all of YOU!...." Slewfoot died in his dreams, two weeks later.
On the day I caught up with him singing at the river, Slew was busking to get enough to pay for his heart medication which had run out. The song is so new I had to give it a title, which is a bit misleading because it really is a love song --but to Everyone, not "just" a girl :)
I didn't know his name but when he wept I did to.I left him my last 2 dollars. I was afraid to talk to him but the memory has haunted me since. Ms Pearl Buskers Bunkhouse 504 943 9149 I made a film called New Orleans street performer breaks down on film. Now I know his name.I house street performers. Those of us who are older get tired at times.
Thank You
What a great performer.

This is heartbreaking. I've never had the chance to meet him in person but being a soul of the good land of Nola, this breaks my heart.

What a loss to New Orleans, to MusicMaker, and to me. I heartsick over knowing I'll never hear or see him again in this life...
Is that his dog or yours?
