@xcentric84 i heard this bike is qwerky sometimes on the throttle like for instance.. you come out of bend and goes everywhere... I'm guessing you have to be an experience rider and have good throttle control... and they call these bike a failed super bike... ?? :S:S can you give me some feedback since you own one .. thanks !

Hows the black death stripes he left behind! Well saved.

For anyone who wants to jump the slap, ffd to 52 seconds. Worrying stuff, still love TLs.

Yes... that would be why I said " the first ones"... I bought my TL in 97, and the r came out the next year... and as far as the rest is concerned - you're talking bollox mate - the handling was so rough that Suzuki retro-fitted a heavier damper, I had to get mine re-mapped too (which made more of a difference than the damper) but it was still a twitchy fucker by anyone's standards, nowhere near a match for the RSV Mille I traded it in on.

This is the reason why you must respect TL. TL has it's own personality and will shake you good if you make even a tiny mistake. This bike is for everybody who want to be beast tamer rather than just a rider.
Hi.
A poorly setup tl can sometimes "fight" back...
We have been racing with it for 2 years now, and changed quite a bit to make it a good superbike. So i woundn't call it.failed, but it needs some work before you can race it properly.

man you can see once he starts to try and hold it together with his upperbody it really shook him hard!!
i had a bad tankslapper on my sv650s last summer after hitting a weird shaped pothole in on the street. almost took me into a gaurdrail before it stopped

All I could do was use the clutch, and hope for the best. The stock damper is quite stiff, but mine had air bubbles in it too so, not helping a lot.
On my SV650s I had the same thing on the street when going over a wet patch, but I can tell you, it's a lot mor gentil on the SV ;-)

should not be rideing a tl without a damper, they were recalled for free fitting

You're scaring me!! haha
Do you think this would have turned out differently with, say, an öhlins unit?

no, don't think so ..
the damper did what it was supposed to do.
advantage of the ohlins one is that you can set is less stiffer, so handling improves.
now it has a bitubo damper, same reason, it's almost is lowest resistance stand, and it will damp on fast movement.
