All the things I mentioned were for verification. To make sure you weren't just making an error in your technique in setting everything up to read the key. Thats all this soldering and cutting is for, reading the key. You do not need this to flash. My key will not work on your system. The key to each xbox 360 is matched to the xbox 360 motherboard, so each is unique and different. My key will only work on my board; not yours. Thats why its so important to back it up.
You actually are required to atleast save it, since iprep and ixtreme use the original key to make the patched key. I'm not even sure what you were doing. If you're just doing this by following videos and not paying attention to what's going on then you will continue to make errors on your next flash. Your xbox 360 is only good for parts if you do not have the key and maybe XBOX Live; that's it.. Sorry for the bad news..
P.S. You can always try removing the wiring solder points and re-soldering across the cuts to close the circuit and power on the xbox and see if it still plays original games. If you do all of that and it does play original games, then your key is still embedded in the drive and your technique is flawed. If all is well, have someone else, more practiced at it do the key extraction and flash for you..
@odismart The worst thing you can do is not save/back-up your key. Always backup the original key. If you do not have the original key to the original drive you cannot spoof the replacement drive to the original. You absolutely require the original key. You may have killed the drive if it's not powering on. Check your soldering points and make sure your cut points are truly cut thru. Try turning the dongle switch in the off position; hook the power up to your pc (power and SATA) turn on dongle
I got here from your tutorial on preparing the drive from acidmods. That tutorial and this video were very descriptive and easy too follow. Thanks, I feel a lot more confident in doing these.
i have a lite on drive just like yours i was gonna flash it but i did something wrong and the drive doesnt even turn on AND i didnt save the key i bought a new drive just like the same thing i cant do anything about plzz someone helppp
this was an awesome tutorial. you did a great job of explaining step by step, thumbs up man, i thank you for your hard work, this was my first new model lite on flash, and it worked like a charm, thanks again, saving this one to my favs
Thank you so much, was able to successfully dump extract the dvd key. Bumped into the same errors during the dumps. Have you been able to make the next video for the spoofing and hacked firmware?
