Mike struggles with how to give support to his wife, who is dying in hospice.
Mike died of a heart attack on March 6, 2011. We first met Mike at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado, where he told one of the most searingly beautiful stories ever told at the Moth. It was a comedy festival, but he had everyone in the audience weeping. We mourn Mike and the stories we won't get to hear, and send our best to his family and friends. Here is footage from that night.

Comedians share their pain with the world in a unique way. Mike Destefano was absolutely amazing at that. Able to play the role of the tough guy but anyone with some experience knows he was actually a big sweet heart. I love you Mike, thank you for everything you gave us. Comedy is a sadder and lonelier place without you. No more pain my friend, you are free again. I love you and I miss you.
