This is one of my favourite episode of Trumptonshire - Chigley. This scene is where the song sang "Time flies by when I'm the driver of a train" where Lord Belborough and his Butler, Brackett drive Bessie the old railway steam engine down the railway line!

Bessie the steam engine maybe based on Shropshire & Montgomery Railway steam locomotive, Gazelle http://www.nrm.org.uk/OurCollection/LocomotivesAndRollingStock/CollectionItem...

Hope u enjoy the vid!!! ^_^

(NOTE: I do not own this video!)

Here's the lyric of this song:

Time flies by when I'm the driver of a train
And I ride on the footplate there and back again
Under bridges over bridges to our destination
Puffing through the countryside there's so much to be seen.
Passengers waving as we steam through a station.
Stoke up fireman for the signal is at green.

Time flies by when I'm the driver of a train
And I ride on the footplate there and back again
In the cutting, through the tunnel,
Rushing clanking on the track.
Wheezing pistons, smoking funnels,
Turning wheels go clickety clack.

Time flies by when I'm the driver of a train
And I ride on the footplate there and back again.

  • @one23dog He'd be right, now.

  • me too

  • This tune and Brian Cant's voice.....just makes me want to curl up on the sofa, with Mr Bear and a cup of hot milk, Mum's voice drifting through from the kitchen....rain pattering on the window, warm and safe, not a care in the world, about five years old. Why do we have to grow up.

  • One word for this series: MONUMENTAL

  • just joined this internet lark and its sites like this makes all the troubles in this world vanish thankyou

  • WOW!! THIS IS MY CHILDHOOD I LIKE THIS SONG.

  • #Careful with that spliff Eugene it causes condensation!# :)

  • British Childrens TV in the 70's was a wonder

  • LOL at the smoke from the train.......thats what my cum looks like when I have a wank in the bath

  • The bit that always got me when I was a kid was the part before this, where the phone rang at the Hall, and the Butler answered it. You always knew they'd soon be going out on the train, which was always my favourite bit. Happy, happy days. Brian Cant should be knighted.
