This one squirrel did that to me! I was just walking along, minding my own business, when something started SCREECHING at me. I was really freaked out until I saw it was just a squirrel.

The maddest squirrel I ever saw was in the top of a tree with a swarm of bees around him.

heard that in my room with window open there was the cat and squirrel and it was making that sound, scared the shit outta me when i heard it in my room all quiet before.

a squirrel in a tree in our school was making this noise as me and my friends were jogging past in during a p.e lesson, no-one else was around so we decided to sit and watch it and we thought it was talking to us :)

Squirrels do that as a warning to other squirrels that there's a predator nearby, also to encourage the predator to leave.

"A squirrel threatened by a serious predator like a cat, dog, hawk or wayward toddler will issue a multimodal alarm, barking out a series of loud chuk-chuk-chuks with a nasally, penetrating “whaa” at the end, while simultaneously performing a tail flag — lifting its fluffy baton high over its head and flicking it back and forth rhythmically. No problem! I wish I had filmed the cat trying to jump the squirrel - it was funny too because it was really a lame attempt (the cat was orange and kind of overweight)
