This song is featured on Camel's album 'The Single Factor'. I love the work David did with the band and think he made a very significant contribution. This song 'Heroes' is one of my favourites. Words cannot describe the beauty in how he sings this and plays the fretless bass. I love all of Camel's work. Such a brilliant band. Please send much love to Andy who is at present making great progress after treatment for being very poorly. The line up on this track was as follows:- Music: Andy Latimer Lyrics: Susan Hoover Lead Vocals,Fretless Bass - David Paton Grand piano,Organ - Ant Phillips Yamaha CS80 - Haydn Bendall Drums - Dave Mattacks Guitars, Piano solo - Andy Latimer Backing vocals - Chris Rainbow www.davidpatonsongs.com www.davidpaton.com David Paton Appreciation Community http://knightrats.proboards99.com/index.cgi http://www.camelproductions.com/

  • Yes I do hope he is still making a good recovery. Not heard anything for a while.

  • It's a great song played by one of my favorite bands. Very good!!!!!!!

  • @Fernandocatan "Rose of Sharon"..of Camel´s "Dust and dreams"...

  • I so love the song and the melody with wonderful singing.

One of my favorite bands at most - a collection of talented people and musicians huge!

  • This track should sooooo have been a hit single. One of the best ballads ever. Helped inspire me to take up fretless bass in 1983 - which I am still enjoying as much as ever.

  • great andy latimer

  • Just the complet musician, David, singer, bassplayer, guitarriist, & his greats basslicks, & pedal notes... simply ¡great!

  • For those of you who likes David Paton, I recommend the song Walking on Ice from Keats album and his contribution as a member of The Alan Parsons project (Let's talk about me, Children of the Moon for example).
