Singer/songwriter Gaby Moreno, who won the John Lennon songwriting competition, recently stopped by for music and conversation. While here, she talked about her quick rise on the American music scene, and gave us a great performance.

  • Gaby, yo también paso todo el día pensando en ti. Pero también sé que, no te fijarías en mí, porque no soy un cantante famoso, y algún día te casarás con alguien como John Mayer.

  • She's the first artist I've ever heard from Guatemala, and she's pretty good.

    Cheers from Brazil!

  • @vittau Ricardo Arjona?

  • @vittau perhaps you've heard from Ricardo Arjona?

he is kind of popular. BTW, their new video is out. Search for "fuiste tu" ricardo Arjona y Gaby Moreno.

I always thought Arjona was the only good thing to ever come out of Guatemala. Thank God we got Gaby now!!!

  • @mochocona1 Yes I do. Gaby is not a copy. I encourage you to look for the videos of Gaby singing "Ocean of Tears" by Big Maybelle Smith and "La vie en rose" by Edith Piaf so you can see the talent and versatility Gaby possesses to cover different genres of music. Hope you enjoy. Cheers!!

  • It's funny how people are comparing her to Natalie Lafourcade because a LONG time ago a lot of people compared Shakira to Alanis Morrisette.

  • @cocolomambero Do u know Natalia Laforcade's music?.... ,,,for me she sounds like her. = / ..gaby has talet but u should see natalia live...thanxxx

  • @mochocona1 Not even close. Aside from spanish songs, Gaby belts out blues music, French, and Portuguese songs and she sings them all well. She is very versatile.

  • natalia laforcade copy???

  • @vittau the first?! dont tell me you havent heard of RICARDO ARJONA?!?!
