World of Warcraft on a late 2008 Macbook Pro 2.8/7200rpm/9600m GT.

Keep in mind the movie recorder cuts my frame-rates in HALF.

  • @JapcoMovies..

Not exactly sure what you're asking, so I'll do my best.

If I'm using the 9600 the computer will get hot while playing games. iStat usually has the GPU between 80-90c. I'll still keep it on my lap during this time, but it is pretty warm.

For regular browsing/surfing..well I've been on the 9600 for around 4 or 5 hours now and iStat reads 62c CPU and 57c GPU.

The 9400 only gets so warm that I can tell the computer is on. If I run games it does heat up a little.

    Hope that helps.

  • My average frame rate with everything up, glow screen off, is around 40-60 fps. If I take the same settings, and change shadow detail from high to low, it goes up to 90-120 fps.

Yes this is the new unibody MBP. Don't know what else to describe, frame rates should speak for themselves.

The integrated 9400m gives around or a little less than half the frame rates of the 9600m gt. Not great but still playable if you're low on battery without a power source.

    Cheers.
