You know, I thought engineering could be important but didn't know it could be fun too! Thanks for the wealth of knowledge you're contributing to the community. Subbed ya!

75' wire is why it's not reading correctly. Too much line resistance.

we have a central boiler that uses our furnace fan to heat our house. We are concerned if the electric would be out for an extended period. We know nothing about solar but wondered if that would be an option for opening the damper when needed and running our furnace fan. We've had ours for 10 years and power outages are a concern. It's cold in here if the fan isn't running and the boiler could overheat.

Hey brother,
I have lots of trees on my property, but almost all pine and some cedar up in NW Idaho.
Would you recommend a wood boiler still?
I am having a log cabin (about 2000 Sq ft) built and am looking for a good way to heat it since I will be going wind and solar power.
If you and Southern Prepper ever want to do an Elk hunt, let me know!
I will be done working here in Afghan. in about 18 to 24 month.
Thanks for all the tips, and I just subscribed toyour channel.
Best regards!!

I built a very crude 250 gallon water boiler, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the factory built units but I love heating the house with almost free wood.
You can build a cheap one that works well if you don't have the money to buy a turn key unit right now. Once the fire gets hot there is no smoke, sometimes a flame about 12" tall comes out of the top of the smoke stack.

I would love to have one of those to heat my greenhouses with. Hopefully I can work it out by next winter. Great tips for sure.

Great video. I have a question i know there would be alot of variables but about how often do you have to add wood in the winter.

How often do you have to add wood to the fire?
Great video. Good timing for me. I was thinking of a Central Boiler. Good information that I didn't see on the website. Thanks.

@voices01 You are welcome. There is a lot that the dealers do not know as well about the stoves they sell. I have installed 4 so if you have ?s fire away.

That's a cool all around situation you could use for all kinds of things. Ever think of building one yourself? Assuming you bought this one. I know codes are gone nuts all over & you have to comply with them when you build a new house with a permit, but it seems you could add one yourself if it's for yourself without going through all the crap & requiring UL's over priced testing which would kill anyone building anything they had to test, unless they would get a huge return.

@tblbaby That is my problem, that I want to build everything but sometimes it makes no sense to reinvent the wheel plus the time factor!

Do you have to shut it down to clean out the ash? How long can you burn until you have to clean it out? We had one of these at a job I worked at in Wyoming, they used it to heat the kiln to dry wood for furniture manufacture. Thanks for sharing.

@enscribe I clean it out about once a month if I am burning hard. No I don't shut it down, I just push hot coals out of way and shovel the ashes into my tractor bucket.
