No, I left for the beach maybe 15 minutes before it was supposed to launch. I got there, looked for half an hour or 45 minutes, then came home. Only later did I find out there was a 2 hour, 15 minute-ish delay! Darn! It was a perfectly clear night, too. If it was possible to see it, I would have seen it, had I known it was delayed. On March 5 there's a Delta II launch scheduled carrying the Kepler mission. I'll look for that. At some point there's one going off from Wallop's Island, too.

I live 15 miles north of Ocala and we still can see the launch nicely East-South-East. Nice video

Launch time is dictated by the day they launch; the launch time gets 25 mins earlier per day for space station missions and it is continuously going around the clock. The next launch, for example, needs to delay just two days to be a night launch, as it is slated for 7:30am Feb. 12. Probability is that half of the remaining flights would wind up being at night, as there is equal chance for a launch date to wind up being a day or night launch. But no such decision to stop night launches was made.
Just to inform everyone who views this video, the next Space Shuttle launch on March 11th 2009 is going to be another night launch at 9:20 pm eastern. Def gonna be there!!!! Gonna be a beauty!!!! ;-)

This was my first launch up close. I mean, I was only at Space View Park, but still, it was spectacular. I see in your Delta IV Heavy video that you went to a little known "locals" viewing spot. You don't have to pay to get there, do you? Is it a good place to view shuttle launches, too? Do they ever close it down? I'm going to the beach here in NC to try to see the Delta IV Heavy launch tonight from Cape Canaveral. I probably won't be able to see it, due to the east trajectory, unlike shuttles

Check out my newest video from last night's Delta IV Heavy launch and read the comments. I went to the locals secret spot again and had an amazing view as you can see. lol. Had a few very unfortunate camera issues though. :-( It's free to go there. There are better viewing spots for shuttle launches, it just depends on the launch pad being used. Did you see the launch last night from NC?

It was not the last night shuttle launch, that is just a rumor being spread (even reported by one newspaper, but it is false).

How do you? What are your sources that there is another night launch(es)? I've heard from a bunch of different websites and news sites that that was the last night launch. I would love to find out there is gonna be another one though. Thanks ;-)
