Well... if you haven't heard already, over 1,300 wolves in Idaho and Montana will be taken off the ESA withing 60 days from when the bill was passed. Wolf hunts are already being planned.
Have a look at this news article:
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-idaho-wolves-20110425,0,...

With Ron Gillett's attitude (as shown in this article) wanting zero wolves in the Northern Rockies, these wolves are almost certainly facing a major decline, or even an eradication.

If this attitude does not disappear quickly, it is likely wolves in the Northern Rockies will be eradicated- and then they will pay for it.
'
WHY WE NEED WOLVES:

1. Elk numbers will explode. The elk populations will grow and grow and grow, and they will, eventually, run out of food. Disease will spread much more easily. In a few decades without wolves, elk will face a large decline meaning the anti-wolf people (of which 99% are hunters) will not be able to hunt elk anymore.

2. While the elk are in large numbers, they threaten the survival of many species, such as aspen, on which many other animals such as beavers and songbirds rely on.

3. Wolves help scavengers. By not eating all of their kills, wolves provide a sustainable food source for scavengers such as bears, coyotes, ravens, and eagles.

4. Wolves help pronghorn by keeping coyote numbers in check.

5. Wolf kills are good for soil.

6. Wolf tourism is an economic boon. https://motherjones.com/files/10wolvesandpeople.pdf

7. Many studies show wolves help ecosystems, and not just in Yellowstone:

need-wolves-in-our_b_177209.html

As you can see, wolves, in general, keep ecosystems in balance. It's simple logic. Wolves are at the top of the food chain. They are a keystone species. They existed with elk and deer and hundreds of other species for thousands of years without human interference.

Without them, Yellowstone becomes an elk farm- which I guess is what the anti-wolf extremist hunters want.

  • All of you need to stop fucking trolling seriously. If your going to say something of your own oxy moronic opinions, don't comment. We all don't need to know how much you hate wolves. If you hate them so much, then why are you on the video?

  • @ruj1970 which is good! with the predators making the prey move around there's more plants for OTHER herbivores to eat! may i bring to mind Kaibou National Park during the early 1900's?

plus, it's not JUST Wolves that eat deer and elk; Cougars, Coyotes and even GRIZZLIES eat those animals. you wanna 'help' herbivores, you gotta kill every single carnivore in North America, from skunks and badgers, to raptors and other birds of prey, to dogs, bears and cats. do you know anything?

  • I love how wolf haters are always saying wolves are destructive to the environment...they are not lol. Wolves keep the elk/deer/coyote populations in check, maintaining a fragile balance that, as we observed with Yellowstone National Park, goes out of whack rather easily. I know hunters would like to have more elk to hunt, but killing wolves and bolstering the elk/deer/etc population will DESTROY the ecosystem, as the elk/deer/etc will eat away the all plants.

  • not to mention, humans face far more dangers than wolves, yote's etc.. we have murderers, rapists, war, disease ( far more disease than wild animals are concerned), vehicle or otherwise defined as death by natural or unnatural causes.. however you slice it, humans have far more ways to control their own population than wild animals do.. but nice try..

  • sure, human population grows faster than wolves, coyotes etc.. however, consider that first off, there are far larger human populations to wolves etc, that reproduction number is obviously going to be larger.. secondly, the carrying capacity to humans vs predators etc is also going to be larger, as there are far more rural and urban areas to support a larger carrying capacity compared to wildlife.. far more forests are being knocked down or destroyed for development, farming, etc.. h

  • @buckluck9pt, and the human population, which grows by about 75 million per year globally, and about 3 million each year in the U.S. is not destroying anything?

Compare those numbers to wolves and you'll see the hypocrisy. The word for it is speciesism.

  • ok so i have a wolf pack so now are they going to kill me??

  • you anti's are absolutely delusional.. these wolves are multiplying by vast numbers with NO way to control the population.. they are the #1 most vicious predator in canada and the numbers are way out of control. these animals will not go extinct, not a chance, but the numbers hve to be brought way down, they are destroying populations of wild animals of deer, elk, turkeys, etc

  • Can't wait for my wolf hunt up here in northern Ontario this fall. Have a special place on the wall for his pelt

  • @ForgottenBeasts Try english asshole.

  • @ruj1970 Tu detrimentum tempi mihi. Reicios veritas et accipios mendacia. Consumor nimius tempus et nimius copiae in haec insulu controverse, unicus discere vincoris causa. Dico hic tibi quia volo finis hic lusus. Nec habes vinere, nec laxus. Spes tu putor in inferno tui delicta.
