This is a short compilation of several train horns that I heard in the distance from inside the campgrounds of Darien Lake theme park resort in Darien Center, NY. All of these were taken on June 15, inside the midnight and 1 am hours. I was surprised by how busy it was that late at night. Hope you like it. The clips have been turned up so the distant horns can be heard clearly. Here is a list of what the 5 clips in this video contain.
-The first clip consists of two horns. The first is a K-5HLL horn. It was hard to identify at first, but listening to other K-5HLL recordings confirmed that when they sounded exactly the same as this one. Then at 00:35, if you turn it up a little, you will hear a very distant K-5H horn. Shame I couldn't get it when it sounded closer; it was incredibly clear and would've made a fantastic recording. When I was recording this clip, I was only expecting (and trying) to record the distant K-5H. The K-5HLL surprised me.
-The second clip is of the same K-5HLL horn from the first clip, but much closer. (turn it back down)
-The third clip I couldn't believe I caught. It begins with a newer K-5LA in the distance, immediately followed by an older K-5LA closer. This is not an edit; it actually happened this way as I recorded it. Before I recorded, the older one played just before the newer one (when I began recording) and then the older one again, but I didn't get the older one the first time.
-The fourth clip is part of the four-horn sequence of another K-5LA.
-The fifth clip is either a K-3LA or some kind of hybrid horn. If you listen very, very closely, you may hear an A# in the D# F# B chord. (This may be an echo instead). The A# seemed much more audible before I recorded the rest of the four-horn sequence. Recently, I heard a horn like this once again in Batavia (the same tracks extend to there as well). That time the fourth note was much more audible.
Other horns heard here but not recorded: Many other K-5LA horns, a few K-5HL horns, another K-5HLL horn, a K-3LA horn, and an odd horn that seemed to play low G# B D F# (this may be a K-5LA whose sound was distorted by the ventilation system in the camper I was in; it had come on before I heard the horn).
Sorry about the occasional slight background noises. It's hard to record from inside a very small camper bedroom.

@dangerella76 I'm not too close, actually. I don't go there very often.

3rd clip was of another K5HLL horn. Low tone.

Actually, that's the same K-5HLL as in the first clip. I took the clip minutes after I took the first one, as the train was passing a closer rail crossing.

i think the first is a minorly fouled K5HL. at first it didnt sound bad at all. but u could tell it was a bit weird sounding in the 2nd clip. but definitely a K5HL. and the 5th sounded like some kind of hybrid.

I wonder if it might be a K5-HLL horn. When I compare the two, the K5-HLL seems to have more of a minor chord, unlike the K5-HL. The 3 bell still is a bit fouled either way.
