Bushfires Threaten Homes in Australia

Bushfires are threatening homes in Melbourne and a school in Sydney Australia due to searing hot dry conditions around the country. The fires raged across the country yesterday.
Melbourne and Sydney recorded highs of up to 40 degrees Celsius, or 104 degrees Fahrenheit, with dry winds fanning the flames.

The Melbourne bushfire burnt five hectares of bushland near a heavily populated area south of the city before more than 100 firefighters brought it under control with the help of waterbombing equipment and hoses.

Local media also reported that the fire came within 100 meters of residential properties. No damage was reported to homes and there were no evacuations.

In Sydney, firefighters worked to contain three fires, one in the city's north and the other two to the west of the city.

Fire authorities say the Sydney fires were most likely started by a cigarette butt and arson.

Authorities expect the hot, dry conditions to continue during the week and warn residents of Sydney and Melbourne to be on high alert for bushfires.

Bush fires are a natural thing to happen, and are meant to happen in Australia because some trees need to burn so their seeds open up. (Some were deliberate which makes your statement more stupid)
