A very simple netradiant mapping tutorial. Sorry about the sound its not as clear as I hoped. Thats what happens with a rubbish microphone. Heres the written version: http://xeno.planetnexuiz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&p=1198#p1198

  • Thanks Sep3lio, this really helped. Do you play Xonotic much/are you on the Xonotic forums?

  • @SpencerCam

I'm around every now and then. Nowhere near as active as I used to be though and I haven't mapped anything in a long time!

  • hey there, anyway t get some lights just dont have so much specular?... just iluminate places and not make them white?

  • @vhmbdc

Well you could use set the _minlight key. It would add a minimum level of light to the entire map. Floodlighting would also do the trick. You can access either by selecting any brush and hitting n on the keyboard. The list of keys will appear and you can add them as needed in the key/value boxes below.

  • Sep3lio, thanks for the tutorials. Could you explain how to make light to it appears to be emanating from an object? Thanks in advance.

  • @dreamersbrow

To make an object emanate light requires the use of shaders and glowmaps. These initially look difficult to use but they arent really. For glowmaps I recommend just opening up existing light textures and taking a look. For shaders there are various tutorials floating around the internet but I recommend asking on the Xonotic or Nexuiz forums.

  • Awesome tutorial!

  • @vaibzzz123 : Select Xonotic in the list of the installable programs, a usual. Installations in GNU/Linux are simpler than in Windows.

  • how do I install this in Ubuntu?

  • can u pls show me your version of netradiant and where i can downloadit?

  • Great video :D
