  • The first car I ever owned was a 1967 Plymouth GTX 440 auto metallic green. I purchased it 6 months before I went to Vietnam . Mine had no power anything, bare bones car. It was amazing and could beat any comers. I survived Vietnam after 6 months in the hospital. I sold it in 1969 to get a red Dodge Charger 440 R\T. These were wonderful powerful cars that anyone could afford. My first the Plymouth GTX cost me only $3000. To get the same power and fun today cost $100,000. That was an amazing era

  • when I was a teen, I had the opportunity to ride along in a GTX just like this running the 440 mill/ 10.5 compression , 1- 4bbl. and 3.91 gears. The car did 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds. Needless to say, I was very impressed ! ( automatic)

  • I HAD ONE OF THESE, IDENTICAL TO THIS, EXCEPT I ORDERED THE OPTIONAL HURST SHFTER...I WISH I STILL HAD IT!!

  • probably my favorite chrysler of all time.

  • Of course ford pulled out. To many un wanted pregnancies.

  • @gqjohnny yeah he won27 out of 31 races that year.although ford did pull out in 1967.

  • it looks like you added a full frame to it

  • I rode in an original 440 67 GTX commando. Lots of tire spinning torque.

  • Richard Petty dominated stock car racing in 67 setting records for wins no one will ever break. Sox and Martin won a lot in the super stock drag classes that year too. 67 Plymouth GTX rules!

  • Intoxicating creation? You damn right it is.
