Egypt's Aboutrika has sympathy for Gaza 05 Jan 08

Mohamed Aboutrika defended his actions in Egypt's group stage match against Sudan after he was warned by the Confederation of African Football for revealing a t-shirt in support of Gaza as part of a goal celebration.

Aboutrika initially did not want to discuss the issue, but broke his silence and spoke exclusively to Al Jazeera's Carrie Brown.

why should anyone have to apologize for his solidarity with gazan suffering and distance themselves from it? this is just ridiculous. the western media flipped out and kept talking about the "suffering" of the israelis who had to leave their illegal settlements, apologizing and empathizing. why is it such a problem to speak out against a clear injustice, violations of international law and human rights, terrorism, and war aggression. getting rid of that mentality is one step towards peace.
