Ja, that's why it sounds funny to me. =|

Cool man. The mix sounds innovative, and inmost of the jazz parts the harpsichord gives kind of original sound. great.
Greets.

Really amazing. I'd never thought one could play jazz on a harpsichord. There is a problem with it, though, when too many notes play together -particularly the low ones- it sounds a bit like a "totum revolutum" and the hearer -perhaps it's due to the recording process- misses much of it. In my opinion, several bits in the second half "degenerate" to some extent, but that may be only in comparison to the rest of the improvisation, or perhaps my little knowledge of jazz music.

There are three moments to considerate:
1) I had no intention to do "classical" jazz. Some sonorities come more from the contemporary music or, at least, from the "free jazz". I take many notes together more for making colour than "harmony"
2) The recording is of a rather bad quality, it's true
3) I played it in à Renaissance-baroque program, so the harpsichord is tuned in a kind of modyfied meantone temperament. It sounds quite different from the usual equal temperament.

Jazz on the harpsichord sounds awesome, but I'm not sure if I like this piece like that... I dunno. I just prefer it Baroque. =)

THIS piece doesn't exist "baroque". It's not a remake of a "baroque" work but a free improvisation upon the harmonic pattern of "baroque" origin.

Awesome, Lully or Marais?

I didn't take neither Lully' s nor Marais version, but just the popular "standard"
